Modelling for the lovely Alexandra King and Laura Michelle Photography

So it was 8.30am in the morning of Tuesday 28th of February that I arrived at Alexandra Kings studio in the small village of Biddesham, Somerset.
I was introduced to the very talented photographer Laura Powers, she takes the most beautiful wedding photos with capturing the pieces that any other photographer would forget to take.
Laura's stunning sister Natalie a beauty therapist also modelled.
So the makeup was started with eyeliner, eyelash extensions and plenty of red lippy, this is where the fun started!!
I back combed the front of my fringe and rolled it into a quiff, the rest of my hair was left down as I had slept with rags in my hair the night before so it had lovely corkscrew curls in.
For those who don't know what rags are: in the 50s,60s and 70s women washed their hair and placed long strips of fabric (old sheets or pillow cases) into their hair with wrapping half of the rag one way then using the rest to wrap the opposite way and then knot them at the bottom. Then the women would sleep in them so in the morning they would unwrap them to find beautiful curls which were easy to maintain.
After the hair and makeup we drove to a small village hall in Weare which had the most idyllic stage, the photos that I have seen so far have turned out really well!
Later on there was some more photos taken nearby Alexandra's studio, next to an old school caravan with beautiful velvet like moss growing upon it, surrounded by nettles and thorns, the raw look of the place complimented the gorgeous dresses :)
And last but not least was the lovely Burnham on sea beach, it was roughly around 5pm and the sun was setting, lights had started to come on on the small pier, again a fab background for these amazing dresses!!
I can't wait to show you these pictures!!

Days away in the Cotswolds via Bath

Hey
Bit late with this blog as iv had so much going on at the moment!

Ok so Luke decided to treat me to a few days away anywhere in the Uk, so i kindly accepted the offer....too darn right!!
We booked a hotel room at Cotswolds88 hotel in a lovely village called Painswick... very out there with a slight Versace feel with silver statues, zebra printed chaise lounges and funky wallpaper.
Prior to arriving in Painswick we were tourists in Bath where we looked around the Roman Baths...amazing, if you haven't been then it's definitely one to do, you can walk round at your own pace, beautiful statues of roman soldiers and the steam that comes off the water is crazy, it's all natural hot springs from the earth!
Then it was my choice of doing something so I chose the fashion museum just up the road in Bath.
Some of the dresses that ladies wore back in the day must have been so uncomfortable!

New Bobbi Brown Brushes- My make-up routine.

It took me about an hour to do my makeup today as I received my new Bobbi Brown brushes!! Exciting!! They are so amazing its an 10 piece set.
So here's a few before and after pics...

Before any make-up, i used a baby wipe to take off any old make-up.
I have quite a few freckles which i do like them theres just so many of the darn things. I also have very dark circles under my eyes which i definately like to cover up!!

Products i used were:
  • L'oreal Paris The foundation True Match, i mixed it this time with Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish as i had a little bit left over, it was a lighter colour than the L'oreal so therefore it matched my skin tone slightly better than usual ( i bought the L'oreal foundation in the summer so my complexion had paled )  So i applied that with my new foundation brush to my whole face starting with my nose and worked my way out.
  • i then applied with my blending brush Benefits Get Even  face powder, it blots away shine and discoloration, just in case my foundation has a slight shine on it. It makes my face a great canvas to start on.

  • OK so i sported a slight scouse brow today lol! I had sharpened my brown eyeliner pencil ( just a cheapy brown eye pencil )  which i use for my eyebrows as i don't see the point in spending out on separate eyebrow pencil as it seems the eyeliner does the job if not better...when i don't apply too much lol.
  • With my bronzing brush i applied my Natural Collection bronzing pearls in upwards strokes onto my cheek bone ( mine don't seem to exist....)
  • Then a little bit of pink blusher over the top to not make it look so....bronzed, again from the natural collection range. ( they're such great prices....like £1.99 each for most of their products!! )
  • I picked up a brilliant L'oreal eye-shadow compact, it has three colours inside, a creamy colour, a light brown and a darker brown....so you can do a smokey eye effect...
  1. I firstly applied the light cream colour to the whole of my eyelid all the way upto my eyebrow,
  2. Secondly the lighter brown to the boney part that is just above the eye socket,
  3. Finally added the darker brown to just the outside of my eye socket and underneath my eye. Just like this...

  • Lastly I applied No 7 liquid eyeliner in black, all along the edge of my eye and underneath, more at the corner of my eye. Then my amazing mascara which is made by Bourjois Volume Clubbing, this is my fave mascara because its so easy to apply with a large brush and it really makes a difference, plus it doesn't flake off.

The fashion show

So Saturday night went down a treat! With over 70 guests seated enjoying a free glass of wine and having a giggle the show started, all the girls were great showing some very gorge lingerie, clothes and shoes. But of course the favourite part for me had to be the individual exciting designs from Alexandra King which myself and another girl Kim modelled!
We both had 3 different outfits to wear plus I wore an amazing corset full of pretty colours and silk purple ribbon..... I seriously need to invest in one!

Kim wore a beautiful cream prom/ wedding dress which fell to the knee with a lovely sweetheart shaped part and organza fabric which rested on her shoulders.

Then the second outfit was the summer look, mine was made from a beautiful peach and mint green bird print fabric which had an underskirt which made the dress fall beautifully. Again Kim wore a pink satin dress and teamed it with a gold belt, it reminded me of Audrey Hepburns black cocktail dress that she wore in the 1954 film Sabrina.

Again Kim wore a really nice tie-dyed with black lace evening dress falling to the knees.
It was a great night!

The Leopard Party Dress
The third dress that I wore is my fave, the leopard print party dress! It made me look so tiny which I loved!

Beautiful lace on the wedding dress.

My first outfit was the white swan lake looking prom/ wedding dress which felt amazing on! The sequined belt was to die for!

The dress on the right is a wedding dress of Alexandra Kings friend, with a beautiful satin and neat lace on the upper section.
